3Cr17 Tool Steel
The international approximate/corresponding grades of 3Cr17 Tool Steel include DIN 1.2085 (a common counterpart) and JIS SUS420F (or similar to the 420-series martensitic stainless steels).Common similar designations: 3Cr17, 3Cr17+S (sulfur-containing free-cutting grade). These correspondences are functional approximations, not identical in terms of chemical composition and manufacturing processes. When selecting alternative materials, please compare the chemical composition, hardness, and end-use application.

What is 3Cr17 Tool Steel?
3Cr17 (sometimes written as 3Cr17+S) is a martensitic stainless tool steel/mold steel. It contains approximately 15% chromium, can be quenched and tempered to achieve medium-to-high hardness, and is commonly used in scenarios such as injection molds, cold work molds, cutting tools, and mechanical parts. When marked with "S", it is a free-cutting grade (containing sulfur) with improved machinability.
