S136 Tool Steel

S136 is an electroslag remelting (ESR) pre-hardened stainless plastic mold steel launched by ASSAB, corresponding to international standards such as DIN 1.2083 and AISI 420Mod ESR. It is pre-hardened at the factory (about HB175-215) and can be used without heat treatment. It is particularly suitable for the plastic mold industry that requires anti-corrosion, mirror polishing and high precision.

  3. Mirror polishing accuracy: Ra can reach ≤0.01 μm.

  5. Corrosion resistance: The high chromium content forms a dense oxide film, making it suitable for humid and corrosive injection molding environments.
