1.2379

1.2379 Hot Work Tool Steel is a high-carbon and high-chromium alloy tool steel with a chromium content of approximately 12%. It features extremely high wear resistance, pressure resistance, good dimensional stability, and certain heat resistance. Although 1.2379 is more commonly used as a cold-work tool steel, it can also exhibit excellent service life in some hot-work conditions involving high temperatures and intense friction, such as hot press forming, hot shear blades, and the manufacturing of high-wear hot-work components. Its high hardness and deformation resistance make it a viable material choice for hot-work mold applications where wear resistance is a priority.
