1.2080
1.2080 Plastic Tool Steel is a high-carbon and high-chromium alloy tool steel with a typical composition containing approximately 2% carbon and 12% chromium. It possesses extremely high hardness, excellent wear resistance, and good dimensional stability. Featuring outstanding surface wear resistance, it is suitable for processing plastic products that have high requirements for the wear resistance of molds, such as engineering plastics filled with glass fibers or containing hard particles. After heat treatment, 1.2080 can achieve high hardness and a long service life. However, its toughness is relatively low, so it is usually used for cold-work plastic mold components or mold structures where wear resistance takes priority over toughness.
