GOST/ГОСТ
GOST (Russian: ГОСТ) is the abbreviation of the national standard system commonly used in Russia and former Soviet Union countries. Its full name is “Государственный стандарт”, which means “national standard”. In the field of tool steels, GOST has made detailed regulations on the grades, chemical compositions, mechanical properties and heat treatment requirements of steels, covering types such as cold-work steel, hot-work steel, high-speed steel and stainless tool steel. GOST tool steels are renowned for their high wear resistance, good toughness, and adaptability to extremely cold and high-strength working conditions, and are widely used in fields such as mold manufacturing, mechanical processing, energy, mining and military industry.
